Biography
My name is Serifo Juwara, and I am a dedicated advocate for the Active Support Gambia community in Stuttgart, Germany. My diverse background and experiences fuel my passion for community service. I first arrived in Germany in 1990, returned briefly to The Gambia in 1993, and permanently settled in Germany in 1994, where I have built a fulfilling life through marriage and raising a family.
Professionally, I have made significant contributions as a landscaper for nearly nine years and engaged in six months of volunteer work. Since 2006, I have worked as a house technician at a local hotel and also contributed my skills at an international school, reflecting my commitment to both education and community service.
Community Engagement
Having resided in Stuttgart since 1995, I have witnessed the evolution of the Gambian community and understand the critical importance of unity among its members. I firmly believe that fostering connections and mutual support can greatly benefit families, particularly those who may be unfamiliar with their cultural backgrounds. I am especially committed to ensuring that younger generations learn about both German and Gambian cultures, ethics, and beliefs.
Vision
As the Assistant Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Active Support Gambia Association, I strive to promote the association as an inclusive platform for all, not just Gambians. I emphasize the significance of integration and active community participation as foundational elements for creating a supportive environment. Through the association, I aim to unite elders and families, enhance cultural awareness, and strengthen community ties.
